Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

The text from the post office that said my chicks were here made it to my phone an hour after I picked them up.  Got the text that the chicks had made it to the big town 120 miles from here after I picked up the chicks.  Was not impressed with the USPS tracking texts.

Their tracking does stink. Luckily I do craft shows with the post master so she just texts me directly! But normally she would have already. Kinda getting nervous but dont want to bug her.

These chicks are 3.5 weeks old
I raised the cave a little b/c the size of the pile of chicks has grown, but honestly they're on top unless it's really cold or windy
Just took this after switching out the shirt on top for a clean one :)

Ps I'm a little concerned one of those leghorns is not a female as advertised :/

^^ crossing fingers for those boxed chicks caught in a storm!

I am just too confused by my birds. The 11 of them are huddled in two groups right now, outside the MHP. They're just shy of 4 weeks and stopped hanging in the heating pad around 3 weeks. It's about 50degrees outside and they're in a garage. I've raised the pad and put it on low.

Could they already be done with the MHP (at least while in the garage???)

Just checking in - my little wry-neck (?) lady (David Bowie) has pulled through! I gave her a vitamin cocktail by syringe 2x a day and now she's stomping around with the rest of them.

She is definitely a little smaller than the rest, but I have hopes she'll catch up. They're just over two weeks old now, and happy girls. Hopefully girls. Hah.

Here they are with the MHP - some on top, some on the roost above. That's David Bowie with the speckles around her eyes, closest to the camera on the roost.

Most likely. Mine are totally off all heat and integrated with the flock by 4 weeks old, and we are still getting into the teens and twenties some nights. We even take down the brooder at that age.
