Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

Sorry I was so short last night.  I was trying to figure out which of 50 different sets of incubator instructions on 50 different sites.  Two incubators going, multiple temp and humidity monitors on both, none of them reading the same, and I don't know what I'm doing. Most of these eggs were a very special gift from a very special person and I don't want to let him down.  Add that to trying to quit smoking and being so angry with "experts" slapping another label on Kendra it was just a rough, rough night.  This too shall pass.  Just put it in the Lord's hands and keep on doing what we do for her.  Okay, rant over!

Blooie no worries, how is incubating going? I had an incubator spike and had to remove 12 eggs with blood rings :(. Hoping the rest make it with no issues.

Also woke up to a winter wonderland in Colorado. It was 70 yesterday and s blizzard today. Lots of road closures and I hear 1-25 is closed from the Colorado Wyoming border, did your family make it back yet?

Nope. Kendra's urology testing and appointments are today. They won't be starting back until tomorrow, and the WYDot Zambonis have a chance to make sure the ice on the interstate is highly polished and properly slick. <sigh> Friend of mine in Denver just told me that the roads into Wyoming from Colorado are closing. Wonderful. Just peachy wonderful. I won't be breathing until I see them pull up here.

Yea it is bad here they are calling for 10-14 inches in the City, of course more in the mountains. The positive note on all this, it's suppose to stop snowing at noon and it's suppose to be 51 tomorrow and sunny. Be glad they aren't heading back until tomorrow, today is no joke.

They're here!!!

Everyone is healthy and happy. They've all checked out "mama" and are now eating and drinking like little machines.

My son is so excited. He's been telling us for weeks that the Easter Bunny is bringing him chickens...well just one is his, he claims. This is Jacob with "Peanut". The first of the girls to be named. (He only got to be in there for a minute. Don't want to stress anyone out.)

Just keep praying. All we can do at this point. Sometimes I hate living here. Too far from what we need as far as Kendra is concerned. A couple of years ago the kids talked about moving to Denver. I was crushed but just told them they had to what they thought was best for their family. So Kenny moved down to try to find a job and a place to live. He came back 5 months later, defeated and bitter. Jobs hard to find, housing with disabled access way out of their price range, and it wasn't worth the girls' spirits to go. Down there nobody knows about Kendra the person like they do up here - the whole town got together and bought them the gait trainer they needed for Kendra when insurance wouldn't cover it. (Insurance said they'd already provided her mobility in the form of her wheelchair and that was all she'd need. Cowley thought otherwise.) Everyone knows Katie and Kendra's issues here and love them just as much as we do.

When he checked into the schools there for meeting Kendra's needs, he said he realized that "special education" meant something entirely different than it does here. Mostly it meant additional money for the school from the gov't. She'd be another number. So he came back home. And they've made it work. But boy, I hate these trips every 6 months.
