Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

I always thought the one on the top screaming is a female.

I think they listen to my DW and figure I like being talked to all day long in a screaming voice.....Which is really weird because I am the perfect husband, just ask me...

Woke up to this....one EE and two OE so far have hatched. No other pips seen atm. Everyone is healthy and doing well.

We woke up to one this morning too, BUT the hatched ended on Thursday. I would have thrown the eggs out yesterday but I was gone doing Grandpa Daycare duties. My wife heard it in the hatcher it was still wet!.... One lucky bird or she would have been recycled had I been home.

I found my heating pad!!!! Well, actually Ken found it, but Yayyyyy!!! I've got 27 eggs in the incubator on day 11, and I'll need it ready for the few chicks that MIGHT hatch. We've got the portals build into the brooder so that's set to go. Last fall Ken put in an outlet in the run just above where the brooder goes, so I don't need to run an extension cord into the coop via the pop door this time. That outlet was wonderful this winter for plugging in the stock tank heater for the water bucket, and now I can use it for MHP - it may be a simple thing but I have a feeling it will be my favorite part of the coop/run!

and where was it, dare I ask?

Hurrah! I won't even ask where it was (lol). That dang outlet in the coop is most amazing...MHP is plugged in right now and in the winter, YES, the heater for the water. I ran a 12/3 extension cord to the coop...perfect...need a GFCI addition but will get one soon...even thinking of maybe plugging in a motion detector light somehow...
