Man attempt at visually/vocally sexing two young ducklings.

Well, looks like I'm in the business of keeping chickens once again, tractor supply got some baby rouens in today and I couldn't resist myself, I picked up two and four Cornish rocks.
They're tiny and adorable, Zaxby picks on them something furious so I'll wait to introduce them until they're older.
Aww Congrats!! so the other ducklings didn't work out? Usually the older one has a bit of a problem sometimes with babies try to let them see each other daily so when time comes to put them together they will already know each other and the littles will be larger and fend for themselves better.

I ended up not able to go get the ones I wanted originally, but there's a tractor supply down the road and I went to get more bedding for Zaxby and stumbled across these precious ones.

The one with a broader bill is Batman and the other is Robin.
I'm waiting to name my Cornish rocks until I can tell them apart, though I want a rooster named Joker

My dog Charlie is very intrigued by the little ones, my three dogs and two cats are very good with Zaxby(mostly because two of them ar afraid of her), and they even play outside together.

I plan on letting them see each other as much as possible.
Zaxby acts like a jealous toddler, peck at the babies, go cuddle up with mom.
What a fluffy drama queen..
She does this to all of the animals, but I'm sure when she goes outside she'll definately appreciate her tiny flock.
Can't wait to see these guys roaming the yard on a sunny day ^_^
I used to raise chickens, only where I lived didn't allow for them to free roam, I'm excited to be able to have a place where they can come out of their runs daily.

Well socializing is coming along, they huddle up but they aren't afraid of my hand and they don't fight when picked up. Sweet babies, I've named the chick in my hand Nugget. ^_^

*excuse the chick poops.
we're all use to poop believe me. lol please be careful with your dogs especially, it only takes a sec for something to get out of hand. And dogs playing with a duck can really get out of hand, we've had quite a few members learn that the hard way.

Look forward to hearing all about when they become friends your lil Rouens will grow so fast.

Love the chicks too good name for a chick, Nugget.
Just saw your dog I have 3 minis dachshunds with very strong prey drives please please be very careful.

Don't worry, my dogs only come close to Zaxby when I'm within reach, and They mostly ignore Zaxby because she's a bully and she scares them.
They are overly interested in the tiny guys though, so I am keeping them alway from them for now.
Can't wait to watch all of them grow!

The cornish rock chicks are meat birds? I apologize if you already know this. But they won't live past 8 weeks normally
