For future issues like that, you can set up a separate group list to put them on and adjust the settings to limit what that group can see on your account. I do this for people on my account who I want to stay in touch with, but who I don't want reading information I'm only comfortable sharing with family. For the longest time I wouldn't accept friend requests from people not related to me, because I hadn't found that feature yet.
