Man up the street, sort of threatening me....what should I do?

How about one of those cheap outdoor video cameras and a sign saying: "Smile! You're on Chicken-Cam!"

That only works if they can read though.

I really don't like bullies!!! I would post "No Tresspassing" (sp?) signs along the property. If there are posted signs, it will increase the severity of concequences SHOULD he/they do anything further.

Also, if it were me, the next time I felt uncomfortable in their presence, I would ask them to leave, and go inside. Good luck with everything.

This just reaks of trouble. I would definately put up " NO TRESPASSING" signs....and make sure your chickens are safely locked away any time you leave the property...and especially for the night. A good lock will deter them, and..if id doesn't....the consequenses for them breaking into a locked building are alot tougher on them! If he comes back...just " politely" tell him your chickens AND ROOSTERS are legal...and if you catch him trespassing, you WILL call the sherriff. Then, just walk away. Be safe..and I hope this is a one time encounter with this man.

I have to agree. I have blown things off in the past and it was the wrong thing to do!!! It' better to have a record of it. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it! If anything fishy happens around your house, the po-po's will know where to start their investigation.

GO t owalmart buy a 30 dollar bb gun pistol. it is good for all pests iuse a crossman 2100 t oget rid of animals near my coop if he comes again tell hin to wait and call 911

You definately need to take percautions. Protect yourself and your loved ones.

With that said, I hope this was just your neighbor having a bad day. If I could add. We had a neighbor lady who wrote us nasty letters, stared at us and our kids. All of this was becasue our roosters crowed and she was convinced she had more flies because of our animals.

Long story short, turns out she was an alcoholic who had slipped, lost her job and was not doing well. 2 years later, she knocked on our door and apologized for how she treated us. I was so glad that we had handled the situation in the most positive way possible.

five of my neighbors must be alcoholics with hard times...

Yesterday I called the sherrif because the neighbor was shooting a high powered pellet gun in his back yard. The police called me back and said that if he was shooting at vermin it was okay. I said "Oh, Really??!!! I have a very nice high powered pellet gun myself. Do you mean to say that I can go get it and start shooting at things in my own back yard too?" He said "Now don't go and do that... I mean..." I told him "Cut the c rap and get over there and tell him to quit it." and he did.

Part of the reason we moved out to the country was to get away from neighbors, but I've found that there really isn't getting rid of the weirdos. We've got two down the street from us that are having a feud... DH is a deputy and at all hours they'll just walk down our driveway if they see him home to complain about one another.

I'd suggest "NO TRESSPASSING" signs, and definitely document the situation. I'd make sure to have a phone in hand if the guy approaches you again - just in case you need to make a call to 911. I would definitely make a report if the incident repeats himself.

Stay safe and good luck with the nutter!
