Maple laid her first egg today! Pic

When I went out to see the girls today I noticed maple didn't come running over in the run, sure enough she was in a nest box! I though she was just " practicing". But I went out to check later and found an egg! So proud of her!

I forgot to add that she is a RSL and she is 18 ( almost 19) wks old. It sure does make you smile!

Good for you! That's a pretty good sized egg too. My pullets are laying pretty small eggs at first.....They're getting larger though...

My Red sex-links first egg was a double yolker! And after 4 weeks of laying, it still makes me smile! And a perfect color egg for your hens name, maple!

And my RSL was 17 weeks when she laid! They are GREAT layers! My Miss. Henny Penny lays practically every day and 1 double yolker a week! They are SUPER stars!
