Maran Assortment coming soon...Newbie needs help

Thanks! I'm hoping it goes well. It's my first time hatching eggs...so we'll see. I have chicks and hens but desperately wanted some BCM. The lady I bought them from doesn't speak amazing English so I had a hard time getting info out of her, so I'm letting the egg color and size speak for the parents quality (I'm only interested in egg color. We don't show birds or anything) until some (hopefully) hatch. It was unfortunately the most affordable option for me but maybe next summer I can afford to by some eggs from someplace better known :)

My Marans eggs should be here Monday or Tuesday......and into the bator Tues or Wed. These will be my first attempt as well. Hoping for the best

Very cool....we will have 3 marans hatches going on at about the same time. Be. Sure to post pics
Oh...and I've never attempted this either

Good luck to everyone!!!! I'm glad I found this person. I'd much rather have a $20 dozen fail than a $69 dozen fail. But I'm hoping for the best! The eggs are so darn huge!

SarahInAlaska: I couldn't believe how big those Marans eggs were that you have, they are gigantic (dinosaur eggs)!!! Good luck to you and MattSinger. Please let me know how your incubation process is going (both of you), and post pics too

!

I don't know if I will have room for the eggs when they come, my tiny incubator is full of thermometers and hygrometers. I have not been able to find really good temp/hygrometers that work. I bought a combo one for reptiles for about $40 and it doesn't read correctly at all. Even when I do the humidity test for the hygrometer or ice water test for the thermometer they are so inaccurate I can't trust them. Have either of you had the same problem, any solution?

Arrrgghhh! I'm so mad! We got our cancellation confirmation from Gabbard Farms 6 days ago. We hadn't received a refund back yet and then all of the sudden, today we get an email informing us our order has been shipped. I'm soooo mad! All I could do was email them as I couldn't find a listed phone number for customer service anywhere. We have over $60 out to these people

Anyone have this happen? I sure as heck don't think I should have to pay to have them shipped back. And at this point I don't think I should have to pay the $10 cancellation fee either since they are the ones that screwed up. I wish I had read all the awful things about them before my husband ordered. I just hope we aren't going to have to eat it now. I suppose I can add them to the incubator if they come, but I didn't want to waste $60 on eggs that won't hatch.
