Not really lol, just typical straight run price at tsc, but the kiddos are happy so it is worth it. Its been a year since we moved and had more space so they've waited patiently. Our last chickens were slaughtered by a neighbor's dog so I wouldn't get more until we moved.Yeah, that sounds like a lost cause. Hope you got a good deal at least.
Sounds like a good choice. That is not fun at all. Well, hopefully you'll get some girls and everyone will be happy. Not really lol, just typical straight run price at tsc, but the kiddos are happy so it is worth it. Here are 4 of the 5. Is that the dark wash you were referring to?Their feet look yellow right? They look like barred rocks, they look just like mine at that age. Some looks like they’re feathering in to be cockerels, but there’s a couple that look like they could be pullets. What do their front of their legs look like? Any that have a dark wash down them?
Is it just me, or does it look like those chicks have rose combs? If that is the case, they are Dominiques.
Yup!! That’s exactly what I was talking about. USUALLY (and this isn’t 100% of course lol) the more dark wash a barred rock chick has, it usually is a pullet (cockerels tend to have brighter cleaner looking legs). Here’s my girl’s legs (they got even darker as she got older, she’s about 10-11 weeks now):Here are 4 of the 5. Is that the dark wash you were referring to?
Well, I will just have to wait and seeI also just saw the comment about the rose comb, I didn’t even realize that but yes you may have dominiques and not barred rocks bc of the rose combs! In which case I’m not sure they go by the dark wash on the leg thing lol.
They are for sure Dominique and we ended up with 2 of the 5 being pullets. Bought as straight run so I'll take it!I agree, BamaGardenGal appears to have some Dominiques, because of the rose combs.
