Maran eggshells resistant to Salmonella-Anyone heard this?

Thought I read it somewhere and now I cannot find anything about it. Possibly a French study.

No but someone once posted that James Bond (In a portrayal Played by, I think, Sean Connery) only eats Marens eggs for breakfast soooooooooooooooooooooooo go figure!

You're correct, it is a well-known fact amongst us Marans loonies that they are the preferred egg of James Bond.

This is mentioned in the English book "Keeping Chickens" by Jeremy Hobson and Celia Lewis. However, there is no reference given for this information.

I thought it had something to do with the amount of pigment in the shell. Anyway, it's a neat idea.
