I always put 'em in the bator "as is". I figure that the hen doesn't wash 'em before she broods, so it must be ok!

LOL!! I am very excited for this hatch. I had a loaded bator this fall, and our furnace broke halfway through the hatch. I came home to a house that was 40 degrees, and a bator that was 60. I got a heatlamp on it and got the temp back up, and I actually got 1 viable chick out of the whole nightmare (out of 48 eggs) Peeps is our spoiled rotten baby.

I am getting my hatcher ready tomorrow for my Golden Cuckoo Marans and my 4 Salmon faverolles to pip by Jan 2-3..I am ready for these little babies to hatch.My 3 others SF babies I bought from you are doing good and getting ready to go into a nice warm coop...will post pics when eggs start pipping..
 
wont know until I get home. I had to work today due to my boss being out of town.But my son is keeping eye on the eggs but he wouldn't know what a pip is..lol...

But he will call me if any popped out yet. I will be leaving here at work around 2pm..
 
Do not open the bator during the hatch!

It is so tempting and will make you crazy but you will get a better hatch, I promise!
