Marans - are they known to be flighty?

As a one year rookie, I just thought it was me! Mine as hysterical when "The Hand" comes into the brooder...serves me right though...it was an impulse buy!

My BCM's are still really young, but they are fairly friendly. I have 1 that's very shy, but she's not flighty. Now the 4 pure Ameraucana's I have are flighty as hell, but they're 14 weeks old now and starting to warm up a bit to me.

Well I want to thank everyone for the replies and I see I'm not the only one with flighty BCM's. I get these 6 from a local breeder so they weren't shipped or anything. But I tell you what, as soon as I'm in the same room as they are (they're about 4 weeks now) they start the yelling and jumping. I have 3 wyondottes a week younger in another brooder and they stand there looking around like "what's all that comotion?
Oh well, I'll wait it out and see what happens. I hope they calm down like a couple people mentioned they might.
