please help me. I have 4 olive egger chicks that are about 7 weeks old and I bought them straight run. I was told they were Marans crossed with Wheaton Ameracaunas. My understanding is that a roo wouldn’t have waddles so I’m trying to go based on comb and tail. Can someone help me sex them?
Thank you

These are my olive Eggers 6 weeks that are the marans and wheaten Ameraucana cross you we’re hoping for. Yours look beautiful too tho! These ones have the pea comb and I’m still waiting on sexing them as their combs are still quite flat and just starting to pink a bit, but I can make out faint 3 lines. Did yours end up as pullets?

Yes! Mine were pullets but haven’t laid yet for me to see the egg color. 3 of mine have a pronounced comb and one has a pea comb. I’ll post a picture later. They look very similar! Mine definitely have the slate feet and puffy cheeks. You’re right, the second one looks like a pea comb. The first one you posted might end up with a comb like a maran. That’s how mine started. Awesome to see someone else with the same mix!!

I was doubting the mix on mine earlier on but I think they are maran/Wheaton Ameraucana after all. I’m still waiting to see a egg!

I do think they both have pea combs, with one just more pronounced. But it’s our first time with this mix so I don’t know all that much. I have a marans and it’s distinctively a single comb. I would LOVE to see your pics! And what age are they? I’m enjoying the chick stage but also eager to know if we’re keeping them haha

Yes I can see the pea comb now! You’re right.
Mine were hatched Jan 15 of this year and are already squatting!! Crazy. These are the little monsters now. They are the loudest of all my chickens.
