Marans eggs

Thanks for the info. How was your hatch rate with them? I'm going to do a little research. I would love to add that color egg to my batch. I have light tan from the SLW, brown from RIR's, and some green from my sweet EE mutts. Now I need blue's and those nice chocolate colors.

With my own eggs I've had a good hatch rate....shipped eggs about the same as other shipped eggs.

You had asked about them being good layers...I've had some issues with them preferring to set rather than lay when they get a couple years old. But when they're laying they're pretty consistant layers.

Thanks so much for the info! I was doing a little reading on them today in one of my chicken books. Do you have any pictures of yours on the site?
