My Wheatens are Bev Davis.

And yes, it is SOO true that, really, about 90% of all Black Coppers I see have faults. All of mine do, I will admit. But, that really comes down to the fact that most people just want "pretty eggs."

Take a look at Bayhorsebonne's - Those were the talk of the town in terms of egg color, but seriously, did anyone ever notice how ugly her birds were?

Wow, that is verging on quite mean, don't you think?

Illia: Ouch!!! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

Eveil~ GET THAT EGG OUT OF THE 'BATOR!!!!! This is a bad egg. Take it out ever....ever so gently, as these eggs can explode and you do not want that, it can ruin the rest of your eggs. The longer it stays in there the more chance it will go boom!

Sorry for cyber-yelling!!!!!!!

Ruth~ I love this site and never get tired of visiting it. What I like most of all about that site is I found it a VERY easy read and not confusing.

Great site Ruth, thanks! Got to say though, their representation of a Blue Copper roo wasn't ideal in my opinion. Pink, your boy Gnarles has it all over theirs!!

Thanks Debbi! He is a good boy....he cracks me up has to be in the center of everything. Yesterday I let the babies out to run around in yard and as soon as Gnarles noticed them (he was still locked up in his coop yard) he must have paced his fence for probably 30 mins. straight. He was making me seasick, back and forth, back and forth, so I let the big Marans out with the babies. This was the babies first interaction with any other birds and big birds to boot, it went great, Gnarles and gang were truly very respective to the chicks being out. They stayed together all day, when it was time to put the babies away......Gnarles had a fit....you know like roosters do when you are in catching a certain bird out of their pen. Every time I managed to catch a baby, Gnarles came running to see just what I thought I was doing. It was sweet to see him take such an interest. Since yesterday went so well with Gnarles' gang and the babies they are going to be out and about together today as well. LoL! Today he is going to be Gnarles in Charge!

I've been chatting with David Hancox (a very helpful man) and he sent me the link last night. I love their site and like you said, it's so easy to read and not confusing and the pictures make it all so easy to understand. I learned more in 5 minutes of reading their site than I have in two years of owning Marans and reading forums about Marans.

The site is really nice showing the faults so we can see them. One thing to remember is if any of us ever plan on showing in an APA show the only standard will be the USA standard and no other. It would of been nice if the standards would of been the same and then it would of eliminated lots of the disagreements. The main thing is breed what you like and deal with the standards when the need arises.
