Guess who showed up at my house yesterday?? MY SON!!!

I was soooo happy to see him, and in one, fine piece! So glad he is home from Iraq. We went chicken stuff shopping, and then went out to dinner, then back to the house to change the oil in my tractor, and then sit on the deck, chew the fat, and watch the chickens. He will make the rounds tomorrow checking in with his friends here, then back to mama for a bit. He is only here for 3 or 4 days, but at least he is BACK!

Last night I candled the 18 BBS/CM eggs I got from Nadine; they are at day 14. I only had two that were NOT developing!

The only reason I was hatching sooo many eggs is because I was told most did not develop when shipped!

What am I going to do if they all hatch?

Holy cow! New Marans folks are popping out of the woodwork this morning!

Batty ~ You didn't say where "locally" was. You may have someone in here right down the road from you!

Then there are always chicks or hatching eggs, and yes, the wait for that first egg is EXASPERATING!!!

...but well worth it!

I live in Washington state.......across the river from The Dalles, OR. So if anyone has too many nearby then shoot me a line!!

HA! I always ask myself that question too! So far, my hatching skills stink, so I have very small hatches. Keeps me in check. It would be the one time I get 30 eggs and then they would all hatch! Don't know if I could handle that with my piddly set-up!

YOU BET! My "baby" is almost 26, but you never get over that feeling, and never quit worrying.

Where you been? It was so seriously serious around here. There was no MALE humor to keep us wondering about the difference between Venus and Mars

One day you may find all of Pinks birds missing from your yard if you keep bragging about having her stock while others are on a long waiting list for eggs. . .

The girls around here can get vicious if they smell "Pink" blood in the water.

I recently started a new, very demanding job that I am having a hard time adjusting to.

Not only is it hectic but I'm working days, nights & split shifts.

My little doggie sleeps when she is home alone and then when I get home she requires at least 2-3 hours of human interaction,

so I find myself getting a 12 pack of "Barley-Pop" on the way home at midnight, getting to sleep around 5 A.M. and then going back to work at 11:30. This routine is taking it's toll.

I like your shark "Smilie".
