Frist 6 eggs in the bottom left of the turner, rows one and two are eggs from Bill's coop. The others in the 2nd and 3rd rows from left are all from Gnarles' coop. I will be getting more today and Sunday so how much room do you have in your 'bator Girl?

I think I see a blurry little Bill chickie right there in the middle towards the back? Cuties! Are you going to try hatching the purple polka dot egg? If you get a purple chick, I'm your gal!!

Purple is MY color!

Looks like we are not going to have a decent spring here. Yesterday, it was 90! Today is supposed to be warmer, then storms on Sunday. All the chooks got to spend the day free rangeing yesterday, and they investigated the whole yard. The smarter ones found that is was much cooler under the deck, I kind of paniced when I couldn't find 5 of them, but when I called with some bread in my hand, out they came. A couple of my female cats have become enamoured with Clyde! They were taking turns rubbing up against him, like they do to your legs. You should've seen the look on Clyde's face!

Sweet boy that he is, he just stood there and took it until he got tired of it, and then just walked away. I'm thinking this is a good thing, as the cats hang out with the flock. Hawk deterrants??

You do see a blurry Bill kiddo in there! There are 3 of them total, 2 blues and a Splash.

Speaking of Bill's kids, here is my Splash Copper boy from Bill, he is almost 6 mos. old.
Walking away from me because he does not like the camera.

I'm sure this is the moment before I got the stink eye.

Well, all the beautiful Marans, Orpington eggs I purchased have not hatched except for 5 chicks total out of 40 eggs. My boyfriend who takes care of the incubators has not been attentive to them and I constantly check the temps and humidity when I'm there, bugging him the moisture seems too low but we worry about drowning the chicks like we did when it was up around 70%. 3 of the 12 Orp eggs were clear, nothing in them. The rest had chicks. I am still letting them sit in the bator for another day or two (24, 25 days) but have very little faith.

I'm very glad I met a new friend in chickens locally who seems to have highly successful hatches so I gave him my purchased blue birchen eggs and a dozen Narangansett eggs, lets see if he has more luck than me. I'm so depressed.
