Nice Score on the seeds! I'm trying quite a bit of new stuff this year...Maybe that's why I'm so anxious to get the garden planted...that or else I like playing in the dirt

I'm going to try to keep track of what I harvest this year...see what produces well and what doesn't so I know what to plant in the future.

I honestly had to re read your original post of what happened a couple of times for it to sink in...I couldn't imagine how it would be like to go through that....I'm glad that you weren't alone. I really hope they are able to find a good balance for your dad's meds indeed.... lots of hugs and prayers for you and your family

You can lose show points on a comb for things more than the number of points. . .
They should be evenly spaced.

Your guy would probably have 4 points, but the large space infront of the first point AND the really wide last point that looks like a second blade would be issues with a judge.
The comb as a WHOLE is maxed at a value of 5 points . .. so that is the most that you could lose. I would think you would lose at least 2 points.

We don't get too many judges on this thread as regular visitors. . .. You could send a pic to a judge and ask them.

PERSONALLY, I don't worry about the comb ( unless it has DQ's) until I get the rest of the bird right. . . . .

This doesn't look like the same comb at all . . . .

I am counting 6 points and the back blade is not messed up like the other picture.

The waves at the front of the comb are what I THINK they call a THUMB print. It is not a DQ, but it is a fault ( it will cost you some points).

Do you have a link to the scoring table the judges use for shows? I need to find out what everything is worth and determine what the important things are VS the small things.

Just a note on the Iowa Blue outcross - it looks like they carry Db based on chickdown, and that probably gives them the extra lacing on the breast. It's not wanted in Birchen Marans, and would be hard to breed out. I believe this is what causes some of the brown headed chicks in BCM.

Rah Rah Sis boom Bah!!!!
