It has the "rust" camo going on....I wish I could put feather grow on that one I sure can't wait to see what it feathers out to be..the back of my flat bed works real well for pictures they are pretty friendly good thing my Jack Russell's are always hoping for a chicken nugget bad little doggies that they are

What color of Birchens, BBS? I am seeing so many young chicks lately with the copper/rust coloring on their heads. Why is this?? Mine all color in the light colored weirdo zone, and then go dark!

of course the 2 darkest didnt hatch! 1 was fully formed and piped the membraine but not the shell, the other was formed too... maybe the power outtage did them in? Oh well, i ended up with 7 fuzzy footed babies, should be good to start a flock with if i'm not all roos!

I haven't posted on here in quite some time. I lurk on a daily basis

, but have been personally isolating for some time lately. (Chalk it up to Chronic Depression) First and foremost...all my birds are doing great!

I know, I know...I need to post some pics. I am still proud to report that I have not lost a single bird that I got from Pinkchick this past Winter/Spring!

It looks like I have 4 up & coming Roos and as they mature Madison will become intimately acquainted with homemade dumplings

. One of these "up & comers" is already showing some real nice copper hackles and I anticipate him being my "Flock Roo" as time goes on.

I might even have an O.E. Roo that could possibly be for sale later this summer. (Unless Pinkchick wants him back)

I really need to make more of a public appearance on BYC, but I somehow get the feeling that "a little of me goes a long way"...

Hi Everyone!!!!!

Seems like forever since I've had the time to just sit and read the thread and catch up with everyone.....just been going gung-ho and non-stop.....I need a nap and it's only 644AM...what's with that??

Lotsa~ They are adorable!!! I know my chickies are very jealous of your chickies because your chickies have some sun to play in.

I can't wait to see all these Birchen babies that everyone has grow up! I want my own Birchen babies......BAD!!!!!

Got 30 babies in the brooder.....it's been a long time since I had that many babies at once. 12 Marans, 2 Welsummers and 16 Delawares.....that's a lot of babies..but they sure are CUTE!!!!!


MR. MEL!!!!! Do I need to get my sign out???? I will ya know! Maybe I should just for good measure......

I am very glad the kiddos are doing great...I can't wait to see them...next Sunday we are going to church with my daughters and parents right next door to your house....can we swing by after and say Hi and see the chooks if you are going to be home? BTW: STOP LURKING MR. AND START POSTING and yes photos are needed!
