yikes lenette! you must really love what you do for a living. The thought of those classes makes me shudder.

And yes...I'm dead serious about the 400 miles of crazy stuff to buy! This will be my third time going and every year I find all sorts of good stuff. I have had a few regrets where I have passed over something and now wish I would have bought them. So, I'm going with a mental list of things I am looking for but also ready for those great surprises. You would not believe the people and what they bring to haul things in. People come from nearly all the states and I've even seen canada plates and met people who have flown from Europe to go. Lots of antique stores and etc will bring out the biggest uhauls they can get and pack them to the brim and drive back home with inventory for their stores for the year. I prefer going to the private sales and especially love the ones at hold houses or farms. You can find the craziest stuff!

And yes...new breeds will get me in trouble, but I'm gonna get those pens built!! I heard a lot of people at the sale talking about how they feel we'll get hit hard this winter again, so I'm gonna try to be prepared as possible

Yes, and right now, their muddy little feet! I can see right now I will have to put some sand in their pen. Think I'll wait until Mr. Gopher moves on. They were all standing there in a huddle yesterday when I came out. They were watching the gopher tunnel heading their way!

Think I have a pic of it somewhere..

yeah...its raining here again today too. I'm so not looking forward to going out to do chores since it rained all day yesterday...the outside runs are going to be a mess today. blech!

Hey....that guy with the splash eggs you were looking into...he wouldn't happen to be from Urbana would he?

I am so excited for the treasures I might find on the Jaunt. I always end up finding something awesome and love the wheeling and dealing with people. I have a ring I bought last year that I love...it simple and cost me less than a quarter! I think it is probably from the 40's....I've seen people selling them online for 20 to 70 bucks, it may not be diamonds or whatever it is women are supposed to have as a best friend, but it makes me happy.

Debbi ~ The other day you posted something about raising your own meal worms.....I got to thinking about doing the same and my friend turned me on to something that reproduces even faster than meal worms, Black Soldier Flies......and Black Soldier Flies also help with regular fly problems because of something that is in their feces, but harmless to everything else, it's crazy!

Check it out here - http://blacksoldierflyblog.com just navigate the site until you get to the home page or just type in Black Soldier Flies into your browser and see what it brings up. On YouTube there is a video about a feeder for the chooks and the larvae are self harvesting and will drop right into a feeder. They are packed full of protein and calcium...something like 43% protein and the rest is fat. Think of all the crumble feed that could be saved when the chooks start filling up on these things. I'm on it and getting my DYI bucket made ASAP and ordering a starter pack of the flies.
