I mean:

The egg on the left is more brown (also has less luster), the egg in the middle is more red, and the egg on the right is reddish-brown with brown spots (my white splash girl.)

So - which is more desirable?

You might try looking up the Marans of America Club and or the Marans Chicken Club USA, both have breeders lists available so you may be able to find someone relatively close to you for shipping eggs or chicks.

Good Morning

DD came in last night with eggs and after looking at them, we are thinking that our Blue Copper Marans pullet is laying. She is about 22 weeks now.

Here are a couple of pictures we took-I tried to mark them but was having problems using the software

the egg in question is the upper right hand corner one:

that would be the only girl that came from you

I am getting so jealous! None of my young pullets have layed yet! Pink the 2 girls from you are 6 months old now and still no eggies from them and I thought my Exchequer Leghorns had started but if they did only got 2 eggs and that was a month ago. They also are 6 months. Whats up? I like for them to be well and mature before they start to lay but this seems crazy.
