Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

I had a class last night that ran late then I had to go at 10pm to the airport to pick up dd who had spent the weekend in NC. I slept in late this morning a rare thing for me to do lol. I woke up to incessant crowing at my window. SOmeone was mad that they didn't get fed right on time.

Getting ready for a huge Halloween Bonfire this weekend. No one told me I had sooooooo much stuff to straighten up and get ready. After this party I am going to go through everything around here and start simplifying.

x2 On the organizing and simplifying thing. I don't know how we end up with so much junk.
I also have a some tree limbs down in the back and a few from the last storm just kinda hanging there that need to get pulled down and cut up. Our chain saw is on the fritz and ancient so thats why I let it slide so long. Maybe I should get dh a new one for our anniversary LOL!

Off to the lumber yard today. Feel much better today, glad I gave myself the extra day to rest up my bones, although I did do some housework yesterday. Pretty here today, but very windy! I just love sawing wood in the wind!

Bought a heater on ebay, and it's due here today, right in time for the next frost on Friday. Sure hope it works good, I'm done with the wood furnace for awhile until I can find someone to fix my chimney!!!

Your hen is real pretty She has some nice coloring around her hackle and she may get a little more as she gets older. Your male is a little too red in the breast area but looks like he might be nice and stocky when he gets bigger. Do you have any dark girls with very little or no coppering to use with him?
