Slick, lucky you!!! 1/4" of rain is as good as gold!!! We've had 2 good rains in the last month, but the ponds are still very low.

Thanks Pink I know you would send rain to us if you could. Since I've been raising my Wellies from you, I've paid more attention to the weather you'll get up there. Your Wellies are tough and have held up under this past summer's drought and extreme heat.
I have a feeling that the grasshopper invasion we had this summer helped the flock deal with all the misery of the climate.

Wynette's BCM have been strong birds too!! The season has changed and we are having cooler weather, cloud cover and a bit of rain, so the girls have started giving me eggs again. I'm getting the most beautiful dark eggs from my Marans & Wellies.

It was a horrible summer to try to bring anything new into central Texas. Hind sight is always 20/20........the weather people on the news say this is the worst drought Texas has had in 50 years.
So I'd say Wynette's and your birds are from strong stock, thanks to both of you for working with your flocks and building a fine flock to share with your BYC family!!!

Try this link, folks...if it works it will show a big yellow area...Pinkchick is right in the middle of it & I am closer to the edge.
We are talking some serious rain here. It's supposed to last for at least 3 days.
