really? I would definitely let'em cook some more. For some reason I thought it had been longer. Maybe some of them are just slow starters

Perhaps some might be slow to start, but when looking in them all the stuff is at the bottom of the egg and you can see the yolk just sort of slink and sludge down to the bottom of the egg. I have a very bright candler I made and I can see into almost every egg my girls give me with the exception of the dark dark ones like I got from that Blue Copper a few weeks ago. I can see in the 3 that I think are good that yolk is still suspended in the top of the egg and I can see development in them, you know like the little black blob that floats? In the 3 that appear good the yolk doesn't slide to the bottom of the egg.

hmmm...that's odd. I've never had that happen. You think they might have been scrambled somehow or just not fertile? When I have eggies that haven't been good they just kind of look exactly the same as the other eggs that are, but just no development...

By the way...I'd love to see and know how you made your candler!

Ding, ding, winner! Linseed oil it is. I am trying to stay away from chemicals.
And I know about the glues, I just meant more organic than metal or plastics.
Thanks, Pink!

Ok...I don't get it... this morning when I checked the temp gauge outside it was 36.....now..two hours later, its 28*. Not gonna lie, this sucks!!

Is there such a thing as a blue splash? I have seen many pictures of blues, and blue wheatens, however I have a Marans that is a light blue that has "splashes" of darker blue with no coppering yet. She is now 6 months old.

1st pic is 6 weeks old
