Sorry Cad, can't see them very cleary, but I am going to say that the feathering looks fine on the blue girl. The feathering is okay on the male too if he didn't have the middle toe stubs, but in the long run those feather stubs on the middle toes could end up being the thing that you don't worry about at first. Not saying that because I see something wrong, just saying that because the rest of the bird will change drastically as they mature.

I have been thinking about those Birchens since then too......I can't wait for them or for spring. My DH just rolled his eyes and laughed when I told him and then said I better start pinching me pennies again.

I went out to get some photos of Lil' Bill and the Gnarles boy (going to call him G2) yesterday for Debbi and it pizzled all day....of course they look like drowned rats. So pics of the bopsy twins for Ms. Debbi is going to have to wait for a couple days until the sun comes back out.

Oh and yes for those of you wondering what I am talking about......I am going to be getting some more Black Birchen chicks in the spring. I am very excited about them (it's all Vicki's fault

). Hoping to test my Blue girls here to the Birchen boy that I got from Zanna that came from Marquisella to see which one of my Blue girls will give me a Blue Birchen and I am set for the blues. I suspect that one of the girls from Bill will be the ones that actually produce a Birchen and they are in with Lil' Bill right now and they better get a move on and start laying so I can test some of their eggies and get them cleaned out so they can go in with the Birchen boy.
Why does it all have to take so long?!?!?!?

Mornin' Debbi!

Last I heard (and just checked again) it is supposed to be hitting down in Kansas. That's good for me, but not my brother, he's supposed to be driving through there around the time its coming. We'll see how it goes for them to get here safely. I am thinking they might have to wait a day to come up? Not sure

Thanks Debbi!
She's a sweetie! So are the BLRW!!
I find my marans raised w the BLRW are calmer and friendlier than marans alone (had some really skittish ones)

If its sunny I'll try to get some more pics...
Have several more BCM and a couple more blues for critique but need to know the ones I'm keeping are on the right track!

Well, I hope he takes it easy driving in that. If he doesn't have to, that's be better. Better a day late than not at all. Looking right now like it will go right in between us! Of course, there was that one year they said we may get some snow flurries, and we ended up with 18" of snow!

We may get some on Christmas too!

Has anyone here used a product called, "EGGIES"?? They are for making hard boiled eggs without the shell. They look like little tuperware egg cups, you crack the egg in them, close the lid, and boil. Sounds ingenius to me!! I HATE peeling hard boiled eggs, but LOVE egg salad sandwiches!

haha...I would so not be disappointed if it didn't snow here. I was just texting him to see if he had been watching the weather and he said no...so I told him what I've been hearing and he's gonna look into it more to make sure they leave the right day and etc. We'll see how it all turns out.

Yeh, I just watched them track it again, and now it looks like the path is coming lower, as in closer to me. Looks like it's going to follow good old Interstate 44, and that's only about 35 miles north of me. Calling for some areas to get between 12-20".

If we get that here, I will have to move all the Silkies into the garage! They'd be buried in that much snow!!

Ok, since Pink can blame Vicki for the hatchings, I can blame the rest of you with all the cute chickie pics lately! I collected 5 Silkie eggs, and THE BATOR IS BACK UP AND RUNNING!!
