Very nice looking!!

haha...the boy in my avatar runs with these boys as well as a sassy Ameraucana cockerel...they are so much fun, I love them! I'll see if I can get some shots in tomorrow when the winds not quite so bad, the birds aren't out much. I don't think its quite as bad as they said its gonna be later, when its supposed to hit 50 mph, but still stinkin windy

If you are looking for feathered shanks AND size in your Cuckoos, contact Stellar Game Birds (also in Florida.) Shank feathers - OVER the top - and size so far - on both my boys.

size is definitely not a problem in my cuckoos...even my girls are giants! They dwarf my other colors when fully grown. I'm working on the leg feathering and perhaps down the line if I need a shot injected into my breeder flock to give me more feathering, I have them written down on my probably over the top research list. This next spring I've already got my chick orders lined up, no hatching eggs for me this spring and am saving up for those at the moment.

Do you have some contact info on Stellar Game Birds? I tried pulling up thier webpage but it said page cannot be found. Do they not have a website anymore or has it changed to something else? Size and leg feathers are just what I need lol. I would totally order eggs from them but I want to see pics of their birds first. Could you pm thier info if you have it?

ETA: okay nevermind I just found it lol.

thanks...they are so so friendly! I can't wait til I for sure have all my breeding pens set up and can really see what the possibilities will be for this coming hatching season. Right now, I'm just moving along at a snails pace trying to do too many things at once. I'm also determined I'm gonna get photo line ups of all my breeders and which pen they are in and such to be able to track my progress a bit more clearly. Its crazy to see how my birds have improved, but hard to show others since I didn't take all that many pics when I first started.

Between Gigantor and the splash boy in my avatar, I will definitely be gaining some size on both my BCMs and my Blue Coppers too!
I can't wait!

Yes you will have some nice chicks in the spring!!!

Now I have a question for anyone who knows the answer LOL!!
I have one little boy (about 7 mos) who is already larger than the other 2 year old bcms that I have, large as the mature wheatens, and large than our biggest black orp. He is still growing too! I like his street sweeper feathered legs, his coppering is pretty good. His tail is a tad bushy. Here is the bad thing. His chest is almost solid black EXCEPT he has a little bit of that copper shafting going on. His comb is totally normal. Both his parents combs are totally normal. Oh and he came from an uber dark egg and so did both his parents!

I want someone to tell me for sure if the shafting is related to the carnation comb? I know the shafting would be a fault but can it be bred out? and where did it come from if neither parent had it and they both have normal combs? In fact I have the grandfather of this bird who came from an dark egg too and he has no shafting and his comb has no sprigs/carnation etc.

I am trying to decide whether to cull this boy only based on the shafting! Thanks
