First, Congrats on your new babies!! Now, the yellow chick is either a Wheaten or a sport Wheaten that pops out of some Black Copper lines from time to time. In other words, a fluke. Does the breeder have Wheaten Marans too? Depending on what it looks like, it may also be another breed? Pics will hopefully give us a clue. Welcome to the dark side...of eggs that is!Hi everyone! I just discovered this thread since I had 3 BCM eggs hatch this morning! I have never owned/raised any of this breed except for one rooster I hatched 2 years ago and had to sell after he went after my 3yo son. (DH was going to kill him if I did not sell him).
Anyway, what I am wondering is if anyone has ever hatched a white/yellow chick that was said to be a BCM? Got the eggs in an egg swap from another BYC member. I guess since I payed nothing for them, other than shipping to send eggs back to the lady I got my eggs from, it is not that important if another breed egg got in there. Just wondering what I might have. Once it gets up on it's feet and dries out I can take pics or wait till it gets a little size on it.
Any ideas anyone?
