Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Yes but other ppl bought from Bev and you know someone closed the flock.

My bad... that is just dumb... more for the 50 percent hatch ratio... that has got to be an error... Sorry Ruth... that is ludicrus. (spelling error)... Wow... ppl do what they do.. I do what I do... nuff said.

I find it hard to believe myself. Why would you charge more per egg than per chick????

They charge $99 for a "juvenile" pair.

Question-1 What is the difference between Bev's line and the rest that are out there?

Question-2 If they are so desirable why does just one person have the monoply on them?

Question-3 Why on Earth would someone pay such outrageous prices for eggs that may or may not hatch? Are they insured?

As far as question 3 I mean each person can charge what they want for their eggs thats their right. I for one can't afford to gamble that much money. I'd be afraid they wouldn't be fertile or get damaged in shipping. Or even hatcher errors.

Ruth, that doesn't make sense to me either. With eggs there are significantly increased risks to obtaining viable birds. One would think that the value of hatching eggs would be lower to compensate for those additional risks.

Well how about I prepay and place my order now, under your current prices, then you can deliver next spring whenever it's convenient for you.

Everytime I see the picture of your Marans on the "Farm Store" page of your website, I just start drooling.

Those birds look fantastic!

Wow...If I traded straight across eggies with ya ruth... I would still have to break the bank!!! I wish I lived closer to newnan... I would love to give my birds a run for their money egg wise... I don't think I can show birds. Too much disease... Risk is too high.. I am opting out... Just can't afford to lose my little birdies... I like em too much.
