For some reason, I always hatch out splash males and NEVER splash female Marans grrrr. Its funny, because normally overall, I always hatch out way more pullets than cockerals

TRUTH! I have only been able to get one Splash girl this hatching season....the rest are all boys! Seems to be that way all the time.....only hatched out a few Splash girls ever.

both of my splashes were girls and I sent them to a laying flock only. they were from the same hatch as the boys with the funky combs. I did keep the 1 blue copper cockeral from the hatch- not sure what I will do with him yet, might pair him up with the blue copper girl that we hatched from some of Pinkchicks eggs!

haha - my camera "barks" like a puppy (arf!) at each picture taken - takes the chickens a bit of getting used to

Thanks, she's a real sweety too! This camera makes a lot of noises like the old 35mm cameras. Zoom is loud, click is loud, and then it makes a noise to when the pic is taken. Doesn't bother me, but evidently the chooks hate it!

As for the green leafy thing, I have NO clue, but I sure wish they would go away! They are a tuberous and voracious weed, with tap roots that are about 9"-12" long! If you don't get the whole thing out they come right back!

I am loving that little splash girl. She is way too pretty to be named Dopey LOL!! Hey try and look up some videos on you tube for your camera. I have found the craziest 'how to' stuff there. They have lots of instructional type videos for all kinds of electronics.

I should've named her "Sweety" or something else, but she really is the dpoey one of the bunch!

Always under my feet! Ahhh YouTube, you forget I am on dial-up, so to watch a 2 minute video takes me almost an HOUR!! I will be going to the Fuji site though, I believe they have what I need there. Either that, or maybe I can get them to send me another CD?

YEAHHHHHH!!!! My Wheaten eggs have made it to the PO!

Told her to hold them until I can get up there. Have to get to the feed store and deliever more Silkie eggs later. May just buy a Mega Millions ticket too while in town. Think of all the trouble I could get into with 500 million!!!

I think our first hatch of splashes (now 3 weeks old) we got 2 girls and 2 boys. I will try to take pictures of them tonight when I get home. They are a cute bunch of babies. But man are they going through the ugly phase right now, lol.
