Hi all,

Still alive and reasonably well here, but thought I'd pop in; I missed you guys! The scat has hit the fan here, and the health of my Daughter being the most prevelant right now. Other things have occured to me, but my Daughter's health is the major concern right now, mom can live with the rest.

Please say a prayer for my daughter, Tiffany, and for me, if you don't mind, so I can keep going on with this and the other stuff I'm dealing with right now. Boy, when it hits, it hits in spades. Thank you Vicki for taking my e-mails and being so descreet, kind, and there for me. For right now, the chickens will have to take a back seat. Right now, it's like being thrown in mid air, I'm not sure where I will land. Hope to be back with better news in the near future. Bless you all for the "chicken family" and more, that you have been to me!!

Dang I think my blue cuckoo is a boy. But I have "blue copper" girls. When they get older I should be able to tell if they are actually silver not gold? Oh I can't wait for them to grow up and show me what they are made of. I am excited at the idea of having some silver genes to work with. So far I think I have all gold. My marans and my ameraucanas.
Oh my gosh oh my gosh.. I need to go bury my nose in my Genetics of Chicken Colours book... be back later! Chicken genetics are so fun!

you mean the pic of the blue cuckoo you put up earlier? I saw pullet when I was looking at it, but maybe if you can get a couple more pics of him/her just to make sure?

Well I would be thrilled to be wrong. This group is heavy in the boy department.
I am just comparing them to each other. There are some that have much much smaller combs.
Here is a little group shot. Cuckoo is in the middle. I think they are starting to get nervous about all the photo shoots I have done today. lol








I remembered another clue... I also got two "solid blue" chicks. (I honestly do not know if they are solid blue like E/E blue or melanized ER/ER blue)
But it was from this solid blue line x the black copper line that I got that these project "blue coppers" were created from. So maybe, the "solid" blue line is where the silver is coming from? If so that means I could somehow use the two solid blues to try and get more silver genes.
Oh gosh this could take years! Weeee!!!

yarg.....now that I'm seeing him from that angle.... boooooooo!!! But if you have some blue girls...I'd give them a shot! Just let me know what you have for sure with pics and such for options when they get a bit of age. I bet you have some stuff to work with there!

I only see 2 roos the cuckoo and the copper sicking his head around the back of the cuckoo... trying to hide

BTW i see 2 birchen pullets.

ok....I just went back and looked at the pics again...the two ladies in the back of the photo on the far left up on the wood...are they getting in silver coloring? Or what is that I'm seeing if not?
