Debbi~
This is Junior's dad. I believe he (J.R) just might have inherited some of papa's size.

OHHHHHH.........I forgot to mention that Bill or Junior are NOT Davis line birds. The only history I have on Bill is the fact that I saw him hatch out of a very dark egg, I got him from my friend who ordered her birds from someone back east.
I took him because of his size and for experimental purposes only.

With regard to the dark brown coating on the eggs, and trying not to get it mucked-up, has anybody found anything to work for that? I'm wondering about building some jumbo-sized nest boxes. And is pine shavings the best substrate? They sure do get stuck on the wet paint.

Here is a BCM standard question. . .

I was looking at my roo today. He has one white wing feather and it does look like the Black is growing up the feather. So I searched his body from tail to head and found the hackle feathers white roots. I did a through body search on this boy - - - and did not see any other white any where on his body.
Is this ok or am I in trouble with this boy ? ?

SECOND BCM standard question . . . My roo has one end of his comb that is purplish. I won't swear to it, but I think it gets this way when he is excited. For example, when I am doing a head to tail inspection of him. It isn't always purplish.
Is this normal or a DQ ? ? What causes it ? I am guessing blood flow, but I dont' know

The Comb part is normal, the white feather is a DQ, and the white undercolor will be a fault according to what Walt said I believe. Will ad also the MCCUSA i making allowances for some of the other varieties to allow white up to two feathers, Do not know if they plan on changing the BC or Wheaten, maybe Bev will comment.

Pink,

I like JR's daddy too! He looks part turkey, man is he big!! I would love to have that kind of size in a roo to see if he would pass it on to the hens. When I bred dogs, I had the best luck when breeding the biggest, doggiest females to a standard sized male. Wonder if it works that way with chooks?? Seeing Bill, and his coloring, and you saying he's from back east, I have a good guess where he is from! PM me if you want my guess
