Just wondering if anyone is working with White Marans at present or in the past. What Marans except the Black can be bred to the white to get white? Will not go out of breed.

Dear Friends,

This is a new member who had her daughter do the posting of the pictures. She posted them in the wrong section and pm me when she didn't get a response. Somehow she is following our postings on this thread BUT posted the pictures on another thread.

Please, take a moment and say "HI" to sewandgrow AND if you have time check out her pictures . . . . She is hatching babies as we speak and wants some feedback on the parent stock.

Thanks

Math Ace

Lisa, ask her to repost them into this thread...that way we (and she) can refer back to them in the appropriate area.

I wish the pics were larger, better lighted, and closer, but the roo looks pretty nice from what I can see. I really can't say on the hens as I can't see them well enough, personally. Hopefully, other peeps can!

Hi Don

I would do as you say, part with those females, the males could still be carrying it. I would either use the male you got from Ron or try to get another male from the same line that isn't carrying the wheaten gene, there are a lot out there. From what I have heard the signs are red on the breasts of both males and females, light colored legs and brown fluff under the tail.

The best of luck

Bev
