As you can tell I am such a rookie at this with way too many pics I so appreciate your patience.We can see the combs are bigger with less tail feather development.The chicks that have faster feathering and bigger tail feathers have smaller combs.I also see feathers I call it the saddle area top back have feathers popping up 3 on each side.hope this kinda made sense. Thanx again.

well...I think this week I'll be getting my incubators set up and get brooders organized. I see the girls are getting back into the beginning of their laying cycles, so seeing some nice color. Haven't had much in the way of eggs the last two or three weeks, so all the ones from the last few days went to baking, and cooking.
 
I know these two aren't Marans, but could you take a look and tell me what you think. This is the two I commented about earlier. I don't know what kind they are...

This one has a red tint and I believe it might be a pullet.

Thank goodness I put them on a towel for this photo shoot. I think they were holding it until I got them out.


This one is more yellow. I believe it is a cockerel.

It had taken a nasty peck to the head. Its already looking much better in the short time I've had it. Acts just fine though.
