I would say cockerel.
she's a very stunning girlHi! I'm new to chickens. I got a Blue Copper Marans from @desertmarcy . Her name is Croquembouche. For my RIR and BPR, I named them after towns in the states of origin: Cranston, RI (Crannie); Beverly, MA. My first BPR I got from a feed store and she's just Pollyanna. Anyhow, I looked up Marans, France on Google Maps and tried to find some inspiring village or city names. Most of them were Saint-something. I wasn't inspired, so I went with Croquembouche, which is a pretentious French desert:This is Croquembouche the French hen:
She is about 28-30 weeks old and hasn't started laying yet. I can't wait to see her dark-brown eggs!
