What color are the Marans eggs on the Marans egg color chart? It's impossible to tell with different lighting, monitors, etc. without one. We always have the chart in our egg photos.


It's helpful also to punch a hole in each egg color on the chart and put your egg behind the chart for most clear color matching, like this:

Good idea! I just need to get a chart.
 
So, my good Marans eggs that I had shipped to me have been in the bator for 7 days. I candled but still couldn't see much. What's really bothering me is that I can't find an air cell. ..... in any of them. My humidity has been roughly 20% the entire time so far. All the air cells from my own eggs have been easily noticeable. Should I be worried or am I just having a hard time because they're so dark. I also can't really see developement but I'm not banking on that until at least another week. They only shipped halfway across the state and my incubator has been running and developing eggs really well.

I have trouble seeing the air cells in those really dark eggs. I keep turning the egg this way and that until I can see it. Some of my eggs are a solid #9 color, and they are soooo hard to see into.
