Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Anyone care to take a guess on these 4? They are 4.5 weeks old. The one and only blue I ended up with screams cockerel. The surprise splash looks like a pullet to me. The two black, I'm split on, I'm guessing one of each??

Can't really see on the pics , but it's probably just as he gets his mature Saddle and Flight feathers coming in.
I would give him another month or so and re look at him.

I would say your right
Blue - Cockerel
Splash - Pullet
Black1 - Cockerel
Black2 - Pullet

Wonderful, thank you, I shall be patient, I have to admit looking at him today you are right his saddle feathers aren't as advanced as they will be looking at adult cock pics, thank you so much, helpful to be able to ask someone in the know
 

You are correct. The combs are also a giveaway, even at this age. The males will have fleshier combs than the females.
