Thanks, Debbi. I dont want to hijack this wonderful thread, Ill just say quickly those are my "reject" blues. The ones I hatched this year are much much better.

Thanks Dave, but this should be nothing compared to the project I started in the heat of the summer! This is a kit, just bolt it together...I hope! Will no doubt have to add some sheathing for insulation too. This will be inside the existing run, so some T posts and welded wire lined with chicken wire, and a simple gate will do to keep the big chooks out. Hopefully, my builders will get done with their other projects before the ground freezes, so I can get the shed converted into the "big" coop/run.

Chasehope this is mostly for you, I have F2 generation chicks due from the GCM roo you got from me. They are pipping! due tomorrow. Will get pics as soon as I can. Hoping for lots of Goldens. Cross your fingers.

" I just finished with another warm bath.

On top of my hen...

one of the most wonderful men I have ever met or had the pleasure of living next door to for 7 years is right now holding his wife and 3 daughters hostage with 3 SWAT team and 2 are from another state and AirLife on standby (I didn't even know they could get a helicopter to fit where they have it sitting) He just snapped. I am very sad. Just heard on the scanner that SWAT is done dealing with him and are waiting for the next clear shot.

The county has had us on complete lockdown for hours, for a few hours we couldn't even use our phones. All I can think of is his wife and daughters right now. I have spent the last several hours listening to shots ringing out in the air 300ft away. He is in his house and keeps popping his head out the window and firing at SWAT. I have been praying for him to "JUST PUT THE GUN DOWN.......JUST PUT THE GUN DOWN!!!!!!" and have now switched my focus to praying for the wife and girls.

The first hen is really pretty and easy on the eyes.
The roos are total opposites of each other. The first one has a better tail and body, BUT his hackle and saddle color is too light. It is approaching the "straw" color that is a DQ in shows. The second roo has better / darker color but the body, tail, back are not nearly as nice as the first roo.

You being delighted is all that counts.
I have non show quality everything. . . . and I am very happy with my flock.
My birds think I ROCK and I feel the same about them

Dh says my birds live in the Ritz compared to our friends birds.
We insulate their coop for the winter, make sure they are eating a proper diet, and inspect them on a regular basis for lice, mites, etc.
