Nope, no snow.....but we sure had a nice blustery night with lots and lots and lots of wonderful sideways blowing rain and howling winds. Gotta love the PNW. It's suppose to get pretty chilly this weekend though, but I haven't heard of any chance of snow yet. It's still too early over here for us to get snow. Bummer too, I love the snow!
With rifle deer season in full swing here, I am glad I didn't bush hog my front pasture. Seems all the deer in the hood know I don't hunt much anymore, and have found a safe haven there. There must've been 20 of them up there this morning! Looked like a few tasty ones too...they better hope I don't start craving venison...the 30.30 is loaded

Some say yes - - there are some nice birds out there that are SQ and without the wheaten issues. Others say NAY - - - and that is our goal "to reach the standard" some way some how.
I look at it this way - - - my birds have issues and if everyone else's birds have issues too then we are on even steven ground! So, I am not really that far behind, if everyone else has issues too. Needless to say, I don't get frustrated when there is talk about how "bad" it is.
I have been reading all the posts too. It seems way to complicated to me. I just need a straight answer to a simple question - - - i.e. Can it be fixed ? ?
The debate about the source of the problem is irrelevant to me. I don't care who spilled the kool-aide. I just care about cleaning it up. Same thing with the last 15 pages of discussion of the wheaton influence genes. Where the issue came from is not nearly as important to me as HOW TO GET RID OF IT. . . . . .
THIS IS JUST ME - - - I am a Black and White type person. I absolutely mean NO OFFENSE to those who like to know the history involved in the wheaton - white feather - etc. issues. I will keep reading the posts as you guys / gals discuss it - - BUT OMG could somebody throw me a bone and post a picture of something with feathers PLEASE ! ! ! !
SewandGrow, I have found no shortcuts yet. I would like some of Pink's birds
, but other than that I will be doing the best I can with what I have. That is where the fun is for me - - - how good can I make what I have.
I really think if the Ohio chicken show - - as large as the pictures indicated that it was - - - lacked quality marans, then we are going to see a lot of birds like mine (with issues) !
Yep! That is how I look at it too, how can I improve what I already have. Over half of the fun for me is seeing what can be created.
