No opinion, but my experience. My very first hatch of BCM gave me 3 out 8 yellow chicks

The person I bought the eggs from told me her husband must have mixed in Golden cuckoo eggs. The roo had a the cinamon wing triangle.

morning girlfriend,
so hey geebs is suggesting I shouldn't mix the fitz and buddy's lines. Is there a discussion about that?

Cheryl, folks have differing opinions...many opine that line breeding is the best way to go...for many, many reasons, most of which are correct, at least IMHO. However, also IMHO, hatchability is compromised the longer you linebreed. Which is why I have pures, but do cross lines. My belief is that you'll end up likely culling more heavily when you cross lines, but will end up with an even better (and stronger) bird in the end. Again, just my opinion.

so sounds like for my first endeavor in breeding these I should stick with the Fitzgeralds eggs. I know this is for another thread, but I have 3 lines in my coronation sussex pen, but is it ok since they all orginated from Greenfire imported stock?

I think it's a personal decision, Cheryl. If it were me, I'd permanently mark them so I could keep track, and I'd do some test breeding to see what you'd get if you crossed them. That's just me!
