Yah, day 27. They were set at 5am November 17th and put in lockdown around 3pmish on Dec.4th. First chick hatched on Dec 8th. Very crazy and very nerve wracking.

I set 21 eggs this morning. Alas only 1 from my BCMs and 2 CM. But my CM roo is my "eating egg" flock roo so the rest are all covered by him

So we'll see what we get crossing him with SLW, SS, EE, RIR, BR (pretty easy there) and I might have a White rock in there too.
He's just a clean legged hatchery CM but a nice personality, at least he's got that going for him.

Cute babies! The tiny one will be the scrapper!

I was going to be in the New Years hatch but I am having too many LG bator problems grrr. I think I need a new heating element on one and the other wont keep a stable temp anymore.
Time to drop kick them. Plus, all I would have are mixed eggs from my layer pen with a little bantam Phx roo as the father lol. I had a duck sitting on eggs but she changed her mind too, naughty girl.
When I went out to get eggs yesterday, the new bhb pullet that just started laying last week made an egg even darker than all her others. I am really kicking myself right now for having the bcm girls all separated from the bcm males. I really wanna set some of her eggs especially that last one!

Pink those are sure little cuties. I just love how the light blue ones look so silvery when they are little. I'm jeaulous, you got a slash!! My little splash is a little roo now and completely full of himself. He goes up to the silkies and pops them on the head, he's so mean to them I had to separate them even though the all hatched together lol. It reminds me of that stupid old song about: 'Little bunny fufu (splash roo) hopping through the forest, scooping up the field mice(silkies) and bopping them on the head'. Haha now I hope that song goes through everyones head today like it is mine, I hate it LOL!!

"Down came the fairy and said...little bunny fufu, I don't want to see you scoopin' up the feild mice and bopping 'em on the head." So, little bunny fufu went hopping through the forest scoopin' up the feild mice and bopping 'em on the head."

Thanks, I got one splash in the last hatch and one in this one. I couldn't be happier. Both are from Bill lineage, the first one that is 6wks old is a roo..

, now hoping that the second one is as well. I've only got Splash girls from Bill in the past, so this will be a treat if they are both boys.

Day 27!?!? Unreal!!!! I have never heard of chicken eggs taking that long to hatch. I wonder what on earth causes that? Could it have something to do with temp variations in the incubator? Is it a genetic thing? If so, would it be wise to use a chick for breeding that took so long to hatch?

Sure is a cutie, though, Pink.
