Finally! One good sized pip!! Four more eggs are really rocking! Funny that the egg with this big pip never showed ANY signs of movement at all C' mon babies!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be worse Debbi - - - I hatched 4 out of 9 of my own eggs and they were ALL ROOOOoooooos

I betcha the egg I cracked right before lock down was a girl and
I betcha the one that couldn't get out of the shell was a girl too! These two chicks didn't make it

I am sure NATURE didn't seriously think we needed more males than females

The girls haven't been doing any more laying since these little ones hatched . . . . .
So, I cannot even try again.

Me too Lisa..............I finally made a decision & got the email from Brinsea that my new incubator has been shipped & I don't have egg one to hatch......What a bummer. I sometimes think it will be spring before I get another Marans egg. The new pullets as about as big as their Momma & eating away but noooooooo eggs.

Just went out on checked on the girls and their egg production.

I have 3 marans eggs

in the egg boxes ! It looks like my girls might be back in action

I'll have to watch over the next few days and see if this is going to be a regular thing

or if it is just a FLUKE

I need to go back and check the ground in the coop. My only other marans hen likes to lay hers on the ground !
