MERRY CHRISTMAS to you too!

Congrats on your blue baby and the one zipping away. You are gonna love the blues!! My blue and blue copper girls are the sweetest things.

I just realized this afternoon that tomorrow was gonna be Christmas Eve...this week has gone by so fast. So, I had to run out to get the rest of the stocking stuffer stuff etc. man o man I am not going anywhere tomorrow after the traffic I ran into today~!

Thanks guys! Wish my kids could be here, maybe next year. If not, I may have to find a pet sitter and go visit my sis and family (who I've never met!) and do the season in their Maine cabin. I'm sure their "cabin" is waaaaay more luxurious than my home!

Haven't seen my sis since my Mom passed in 1994, would be so nice to see her under better circumstances.

Flgardengirl ~ Stupid question here.. do the blue chicks sound different than the BCMs to you??? I just noticed they are not giving the same "hatch call" that all of the BCMs have. The one by HERself

, seems way more self assured, and isn't putting out that distressed call that all of my others had. Looks real healthy and dry, and getting around great, already looking for food! Is it just me??

Sounds like time for you to visit your sister for the Holidays! That should be fun!

My Blue Copper chicks were friendlier and more laid back than the Black Coppers. SHE must be confidant lots of her hatch-mates will join her soon!

Debbi-glad you are getting some action. I have 11 chicks and 3 zipping so far.
Everyone is enjoying the hatching.
Happy Holidays to you. (But, I'm sure I'll be checking back in before Christmas)

Well, it may sound strange, but I can definately see a difference in the personalities already. All of the BCMs I have had (ha! all 10), all were very "needy" sounding when first born, even when they had hatchmates with them. This chick is very calm and not doing that "sheeooop sheeooop" call. Just kind of chirping along. SHE'S walking, chirping, dry now, and resting on and off. Just seems very different from what I've seen previously...funny. The other one is just poking along at zipping...sheesh!

Congrats on your hatches so far! Sounds like you're doing great! If I get half of this hatch I'll consider myself really lucky. Getting shipped eggs is a blessing and a curse for me, and my best hatch has been 40%. So far, I've seen 6 rocking total, one hatched, one zipping, so I'm hoping more will come forward too. These were very cold when I received them, so I hope some are being delayed because of this. With Pink's 27 day hatch, I will hold out that long too, or until they start stinking!

It seems like it takes them forever to finish zipping sometimes! I bet there are differences in personalities from different lines too. The calm ones are the BEST!

Yes, it would be fun! I have yet to meet her husband or children! She's been married 22 years, so it would be nice. I am labeled as the "funny Aunt" by vertue of how I live, I guess,

Her kids are amazed that someone these days lives the rough (poor) country life, but when it comes to ebay advise, they come to me!

They may all have the book smarts, but I've got the survivor smarts! If the grid shut down tomorrow (God forbid!), I could survive, they may have a way harder time.
