I did cull for that in chicks but have since found out it tends to not mean they will get middle toe feathers.

If all things are equal I would not use a bird with middle toe feathers. BUT I do have a cock that I use with middle toe feathers. The hens are either clean legs are sparsely feathered and he throws chicks with really nice feathered legs. Work with the averages. One has too much of something over one that is lacking that thing.

I ordered Buff Brahmas but they throw in 2 BCM's. If God is willing I will have a cockerel and pullet. What r the chances. HAHAHA

I ended up with only one BCM pullet, and one roo worth keeping. Out of my blues, I have 3 pullets, and 2 roo's, one of which was injured by a dog and is in recovery.

I'm very disappointed my BCM pullet doesn't lay a dark egg. Unless she's just not warmed up yet. She's only laid twice so far. But my marans/brahma cross lays a beautiful dark egg. This just doesn't make sense to me. Hopefully her sprayer is just not warmed up yet. What do you experts think? Do they take a little bit to get that beautiful color? Her first egg was speckled with very dark spots but her second egg was almost a normal brown egg

Sorry to tell you but your blue copper, he is not copper. He looks like a cross with a birchen so he will not breed true.

I just went through this a few weeks ago. I was nervous/upset when my BCM pullet laid a very very light brown egg. I was told to give it some time. And a few eggs later there was a big difference. First eggs and a few eggs later the color was sooo much better I hope your eggs darken up also.
