Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

If there are any marans breeders in central NC I am wanting a blue copper rooster with feather legs. I have a blue frizzle hen and a normal blue hen and need a good breeding quality roo so I can make lots of blue black and splash frizzle and normal marans. You don't see many frizzle marans and I'd like to use this gene I have. I would like as young a bird as possible but would buy a year old and just keep him at my dads until mine get old enough. PM me please. I'm having trouble finding one. Would consider paying for one to be shipped to me as well.

Can anyone help identify which type of Maran chick I have? (And any insight re sex would be fantastic!)
I was told this chick is a maran but I've googled photos of maran chicks and my one doesn't look like any that I've seen. It has a mostly blue body, black wings and white chest. It has feathers on its legs and its little comb is more grey / black than red. Forgive my ignorance- these are my first chicks (the first of many, no doubt :D).
Here it is:

Looks like a blue marans roo to me. You wanna sell him?:lau

If it's a roo you can have him
From week one he has been strutting around, head held high, chest bumping all the others and 'claiming' the dust bath for himself

He's also the first to come to me and goes nuts for a blueberry :D
I'm trying not to get too attached as I think I've ended up with several roosters :he

I posted these pics of my "BR" chicks in the BR thread and someone mentioned they are Cuckoo Marans and not BRs. I purchased them from a local feed store. Not sure how old they are....anywhere from 3-4 weeks I would guess.

What do you guys think?
