I believe if you cross blue to wheaten, you'll get solid blue and black birds. If you cross those birds together you will get some blue wheatens in the mix. You could also cross the blue offspring back to the wheaten parent, and about half would be blue wheatens. At least that's what the chicken calculator says. It may not be so cut and dry.

It should work either way. I'm just at the start of a similar project with some EE's/Ameraucanas with silkie feathers. I actually have a splash roo who is going to over some wheaten pullets. Then I will mate the siblings together and hope for the best!

I bred for them. This is my first gen (f1) hatch of them. So keeping them. I know you can get them but would have taken the fun out of it.
Still have 2 Olive eggs to go,1 cm pip -1 to go,2 BBS/Wheaten to go. They are the eggs I put in last. So

that the rest will hatch. I think it was a good hatch even if the rest don't because they were all pullet eggs (first time Layers). Bev Davis had some. There are a few others too. Good luck finding some.
I'm using a mix flock of Wheatens and Blue and Splash I do have 1 blk hen for when they go in there own coops. I have 1 Wheaten roo and 1 Splash roo in with 4 Wheaten & 4 BBS. The chicks 2 are BLK and the rest are blue with bits of wheaten in wings, neck, legs. I will bred them back to Wheaten roo.
