Just a reminder to all when culling for comb. The fowl crossed with Pene blood will show up mainly on the males and will be in the form of the Carnation comb. If you get these please cull or put in your egg laying flock. The white ear lobes show up in the pene crosses.

FYI at least 1/2 of these are from the Bev Davis Line and came directly from her this spring. They are young (5 1/2 months) and still need to grow. Granted even in the best lines there are culls and that is what I am trying to do.

I really appreciate all the helpful comments. We can look and learn the positive along with the negative from those who know. I don't mind posting my pictures for us to all learn on.

Other lines (other birds) include Buddy Henry and BayHorse Bonnie and a few others that I found that came from a nice dark egg. I wanted to see the overall differences in birds and type along with egg color so I shopped around.

Thanks for showing what you have to cull from rustyswoman most of us have to work with what we have and it's hard to cull when everyone one of them has something off from about 15 roos that I've hatched in the BCM I only have 1 that I'm leaving in ......the best colored one has yellow in his shanks the best bodied one has terrible color and the comb is so bad I wish I had cold weather.....but I have one from BD lines who has size and okay color and a comb that can be worked with and came out of a very dark egg...he's just young same with my splash boy he's still looking real good and I have 3 hens with size and color just waiting to see if the egg color is good enough. The one too dark hen is for the splash roo and her egg color is wonderful so I feel like I have got a start off point took all year to get there though. I have to upload my pictures then I will be showing the good the bad and the ugly.....

Love the "good the bad and the ugly" just about perfect with these birds--but the eggs keep us coming back for more punishment.

Germaine, you have some males that have a lot going for them, How did they turn out as far as white in wing and tail feathers ? How about the white undercolor in the neck ? Nice healthy group of birds.

Its just the way she is stood bless her yeah they have no feathers on their legs here, she is lovely bless her

She is a good looking Cuckoo. Is she your first and did you hatch her or buy her. Just wait until you get those first dark eggs, they are so much fun to find.
