Since there seems to be some interest in talking about Marans faults. The proposed standard say the female is not to be faulted for having a lopped comb while laying. This does not include the Marans with the back of the comb or blade that is turned sideways, This is a fault. I am not a believer is the theory that it is only a small point deduction so do not worry about it. If you ad up all of the point deductions even though they are small, they can become large.
Something to ponder = If you ever show chickens on a steady basis and are a breeder you will know more than most Judge's that will judge your bird about the particular bird. This is not a knock on judges it is just common sense.
