Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

This is my opinion.......a person can cross any color variety of Marans and still have a Marans...it just wouldn't be of any certain color variety.

Yes, breed the feathered shanked birds to feather shanked birds, but you can breed a feather shanked bird to a clean shanked bird if you would like but you will get some clean shanked birds from that cross.

hey everyone.

I tried to communicate with ya'll twice last night and got locked out of each thread each time ! !

TARA and PINK . . . If you ladies would repost your pictures, I would love to have a discussion some time this weekend on marans hen's backs and tails. PINK, you posted a group of pictures about a week ago for that purpose. TARA posted her pic(s) just a day or so ok. I think she was looking for feedback, but I don't think she ever received it !

Still working on how to separate my eggs for hatching. Sunday is LOCKDOWN . . . so I went to the dollar store today.

I picked up some of those light weight intimates wash bags with zipper close.

Don, I found some stackable crates - - they plastic with large hole for good circulation. I am working off the wire baskets and going to try stackable plastic baskets. The plastic ones are a little tall, but I think we can cut them down and still stack them. Between the bags and baskets - - I think I may have the hatching covered.
