Ha! If they are, you can't prove it by my boys! The first two, they are 5 weeks apart, starting crowing at 8 weeks! Thought that was early, until the last hatch with 3 boys started crowing at SEVEN WEEKS! Who needs an alarm clock?? Not me!

Hey Agent Orange! Meet "Big Red" - This is what a Wheaten should NOT look like, but is a Wheaten version of your over-colored Copper.

As I posted earlier - I've never critiqued anyone's birds - I think they're all beautiful. But I did want to ask another question - aren't the shoulders and bow supposed to be colored (dark red and copper)??? I've seen a lot of pics of roos without the wing color. In Mahonri's case, this bird may still develop color, I don't know, mine have their color from just a few weeks old - but I'm still seeing lots of mature roos with almost solid black wings with maybe only a few specks of red.

Any comments on wing color???? I really don't know why I'm asking because I, like so many others, have gotten a tad overwhelmed at all the many "details" that need to be checked for but I don't think we've addressed this issue yet.

Oh lordy he is bright lol. Okay, you have the worst wheaten and I have the worst bcm ~yeah!!! LOL! Did Big Red come from a really dark egg as well? I am wondering if mossy hideous orange and dark eggs often go together....

monique, he is young... he'll be six months old the 27th of this month.

He came from Brandon's eggs and so I know he still got a lot of development yet. Brandon said that he had two roos back then one Bev Davis and one Wade Jean. I'm guessing mine is from the Jean line as he is a pussy cat and will even crow while being held. You can tell he was well taken care of and loves attention. I wish I didn't have to wait 10 days to put him with my girls.

here is the roo I have had over my hens that I'm rehoming. You can see why I like the one on the bottom better!

No, I don't see. . . The one on top has amazing copper color, the one on bottom is practically yellow. The one on top has better leg feathering. The one on top also has a better comb.

Maybe it's just me. . .

Amazing copper color?

I had other breeders here on this thread who said that he was "too mossy".

And to me the combs almost look identical?

You are the breeder. I'm not.

Oh, and BTW.. I love your RED wheaten. He's beautiful.
