Hi, I do let the chickens and muscovy ducks freerange and they do rest under the brugmansia trees for shade. They don't seem interested in eating them and if they have it must not have affected them lol. The muscovies will really eat just about anything running around tasting everything in the yard at least once. I know someone who has goats and lots of brugmansias and the goats won't even eat them. They must taste really nasty.
I do use composted chicken manure and rabbit manure along with coffee grounds, leaves and whatever else ends up in the compost pile for all my plants. Last year I started experimenting with milorganite mixed in as well for the plumeria, brugmansia, and bananas and everything really went crazy. I never had so many blooms.
